I recently did a Q&A YouTube video and one of the questions I get repeatedly is what type of undergarment I use for specific outfits. I have rounded up some of my favorites here. I would love to know if you have found that perfect unicorn bra or foundation piece to complete your styling! For sizing reference, I generally wear a 36DD and a 38D (sister sizing because Spanx does not offer DD) in the Spanx brands.
One of my favorite lounging bras from Neiwei is from their line, Barely Zero. It is a one-size bra (fits cup size A thru DD) with wide straps, removable pads and no wire or hardware. This is the one I grab to wear under my favorite lounging outfits. Strapless Styles
The Yummie Bandeau Bra with a slight sweetheart neckline. This is terrific if you need a strapless style but want a comfort bra and your neckline isn’t straight across.
The Vanity Fair Classic Strapless Bra has a wide range sizing from 34B to 44DD. Consider ordering up one size, also comes in black. It is lightly padded with underwire and silicone on the sides and back to help keep it in place.
The Wacoal Strapless Bra has smooth lines, an underwire for support and silicone to keep it from sliding. Bra runs big, so I sized down to a D instead of a DD. The bra is definitely an investment, but can be worn with one shoulder, racerback and cross front.
The Delimira Lift Strapless Bra is great for fuller busts and if you have a deep v, keyhole or cut-out in the neckline of your top. It has a lace detail throughout the bodice with sizing 32A to 42F, I bought the 36DD. I would categorize this as a push-up strapless bra. Also has an underwire.
Everyday Wear
The Halter Bra has no underwire, an open back and halter-style fit around the neck. It is a one-size fit and comes in white.
Warner’s Easy Does It Bra is lightly padded, small thru 3x available. 94% nylon, 6% spandex. This one has great coverage under the arm and around the back. (gets 4.5 stars with over 35,000 reviews) the neckline is high enough to keep away any bulge. This is your everyday, comfort bra with no underwire. Shapewear
I bought the Bodysuit from Amazon in all 3 neutral colors. There are two varieties under the current link, one with a wider strap and one with a thin, adjustable strap. This is form fitting and true shapewear. Although the photos show it being worn as top, it is too thin for that, in my opinion. It has group sizing, I bought a medium/large.
These are the High Waisted Body Shaping Shorts ($26.99) from Amazon. Made of nylon and 10% spandex, they are still pretty lightweight and have a lot of stretch. I have the medium/large size (over 27,000 reviews and a best seller).
This Tummy Control Panty from Nebility has a ton of compression. It is highwaisted and uses a “wrap” fabrication for shaping the hips and stomach area. It also gives a bit of a booty lift. At a very reasonable price for shapewear, it is one that can do a lot of duty. I bought it in a large. The trick with all of these compression styles is to get your correct sizing, which can be a challenge!
Bottoms
The Neutral 5-Pack of Thongs, also available in other colors for $15 from Amazon. Order your normal size. It has a mesh design with 100% cotton lining. (4.5 out of 5 stars with over 45,000 reviews and is an Amazon #1 best seller).
The Warner’s High Waisted Briefs with 10% spandex for control top feel. Sizes available are small thru 2x, based on the reviews, I sized up and glad I did. These are thin and lightweight but still give you some support. They are not true shapewear. If you are looking for something with a lot of support, I would recommend the bodysuit for stomach control. Gets 4.5 stars with over 16,000 reviews. 3 pack for $13-other colors available.
The Amazon Essentials Slim-Fit Cami is a 4-pack of neutrals, alot of other colors also available ($25 for 4). They are 95% cotton, 5% spandex with adjustable straps, no shelf bra and meant to be fitted- great as a first layer or under your favorite cardigan this fall. If you want a classic fit, try this style.
Athletic Wear
An alternative to a yoga bra is the Amazon Essentials Sports Bra. It has a racerback style with 26% spandex, I order these in a large. Comes in several solids and prints. The Baleaf biker shorts that I normally wear from Amazon are HERE. I wear a large.
These No-Show Socks are thin and great for shoes that are closed-toed (not necessarily sneakers). Comes in a 3 pack and under $10.
